About

I am a Naturopath and a Nutritionist

I am also a wife, mother, and grandmother, with a lifetime experience in raising a family and working both on farm and in a city. I have lived most of my life in a rural environment, farming with my husband and children, and understand the stress, the happiness, the tears, the fears, the achievements, the failures, the guilt, the struggle, that all go towards living a full life. I also understand the joys and the loneliness of a city and how hard it can be to fit in and build a meaningful life.

I have had my own battles with illness, and a thyroid condition diagnosed in my early 40’s, which was greatly impacting my health. Along with medication prescribed for my health, I discovered that by changing my diet, addressing my influencing stressors, and learning how to handle these, along with adjusting my exercise and workload to suit my physical state, that I could greatly improve my health. Through this journey I discovered my passion for health and the huge influence our diet and nutrition can make to our health. I personally have been on a ‘gluten free’ pathway for over 20 years and although this is not for everyone, I have witnessed the massive improvement of my own health and the huge advancement of foods in this area.

As my children grew and started to leave home, I found the time to start seriously studying health and nutrition. I began tentatively with the meaning and importance of “well-being”. Finding that this includes not only our physical state, but also our mental, social, and spiritual health, reinforced all my intuitive beliefs. Nutritional Medicine came next followed by Naturopathy. The more I learned, the more I wanted to know and the journey for knowledge, continues to this day. Our bodies are so complex, so reliant on what we put into them, so connected to our emotional state and environment, that a deep understanding of everything that influences them, is needed to understand how they function and what is behind current illness or disease.

Working alongside modern medicine and incorporating our modern lifestyles are essential in providing a complete healthcare program. My wish is to be able to help others understand their own health and what is impacting them, so that they too, can move forward towards better health and a sense of wellbeing.
